After becoming laid off from my job last year, I made the decision to go back to school and major in elementary education so I could fulfill my lifelong dream to become a teacher. I started attending the University of New England last spring and though it's beeen difficult for my family and me, we managed to make it through the semester. However, this year I just found out that the university had a $5,000 tuition balance left over from the spring that I was not aware of until recently. I also have a balance of close to $4,000 for this year. I have received some scholarships and loans, but it is not enough. I have a son in college and two daughters still in school at home. I do not work because of my student status and it is very difficult for us to support out family on just one income. I can't even begin to tell you the stress this situation is causing in our household. I would appreciate as much help as possible to continue my education.
